Jumping Back Slash releases new single on Swak Catalog: Listen
Jumping Back Slash has a new single on Swak Catalog, taken from the album 'A Map of the Hills I Chose to Die On': eight tracks of experimental tones themed around "loss and quixotic battles against giant enemies".
The track, 'Wotuno', which the British-born South Africa-based producer self-describes as "weirdo amapiano/bacardi something or other hybrid", has been unveiled online with its own animated video. The full record is also out now, and available digitally via Bandcamp.

Cooly G returns to Hyperdub with new EP, ‘Save Me': Listen
Cooly G has announced her return to Hyperdub with the 'Save Me' EP. You can hear the lead track, 'We Can Find Love Too', below.
The two-track release marks Cooly G's first release for the label since 2017, and touches on influencesincluding amapiano, drill and UK Funky.
'We Can Find Love Too' features vocals from Ruth Brown, who was a finalist on the first series of BBC television show, 'The Voice'. The title track was co-produced with Marcus Damon.
DJ Lag remixes his own track with Lady Du, 'Lucifer': Listen
DJ Lag has shared an amapiano remix of his track with Lady Du, 'Lucifer'.
The original was first unveiled last month, alongside news of the South African producer's debut album, 'Meeting With The King', which will be released at the start of 2022.
DJ Lag's new remix, which you can listen to below, reworks the track into an extended eight-minute dancefloor tool, retaining Lady Du's vocals from the original cut.

DJ Lag has shared details of his debut album, 'Meeting With The King'.
Due out in November, the 15-track album sees the producer team up with a number of artists from his native South Africa, collaborating with representatives from the gqom and amapiano scenes. Sinjin Hawke also features on one track.
Lag has also shared the first of three songs to emerge ahead of the album's release, in the form of lead cut 'Lucifer', which features amapiano vocalist Lady Du. The track, which you can check out below, is out now via Black Major and Lag's own Ice Drop imprint.

The clip, which you can watch below, is dedicated to the late amapiano artist Mpiru and Killer Kau, who were tragically killed in a car accident in South Africa earlier this month.

Amapiano artists Mpura and Killer Kau have died after being involved in a car accident while travelling en route to a concert in Rustenburg, South Africa on 7th August.
Early reports from the incident claimed another of the scene's brightest stars, Kabza De Small, had also been killed, but the artist took to Twitter to confirm this was inaccurate.
