A new record player that allows you to cut your own vinyl at home is available for pre-order, called the EZ Record Maker.

The turntable is also able to play the record after cutting it via its built in speaker, as well as connect to an external audio source.

Conceived by London-based designer Yuri Suzuki in collaboration with Japanese company Gakken, the EZ Record Maker takes the sound from an external aux cable and presses it to a 10" vinyl. Five of these ship with the record player.

A vital part of the recent renaissance of French house and disco producers, Folamour has seen his releases — which come in the form of albums, EPs, remixes and edits — land on labels including Classic Music Company, Church, Kyoku Records and more.

The French DJ/producer's second album, 'Ordinary Drugs', landed in February 2019. The 11-track LP followed his 2017 debut, 'Umami', which included ‘Devoted To U’ and ‘Ivoire’.

Album sales have hit a 60-year low in the US amid the ongoing music industry fallout from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Sales are down on both physical and digital products, while streaming numbers have also taken a hit. This is a further blow for an industry that is already dealing with a wave of festival and gig cancellations around the world due to the lockdown measures and gathering bans that have been put in place by various countries to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

A new record shop called Ecstatic Peace Library will open in North London.

Running for six weeks, the pop-up store is the brainchild of Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Edwin Pouncey, and Soho Radio's Pete Flanagan, and will be at multi-use venue, 96 Church Street.

As well as records, the store will stock various pieces of artwork and vintage clothing, as well as posters and books.

Ecstatic Peace Library is open now, and will be at 96 Church Street in Stoke Newington until the 14th March.

Jeff Mills has announced details about his long-awaited return as Millsart.

The legendary Detroit-born DJ and producer will return under the alias for the first time since 2003 for the fifth installment of his 'Every Dog Has Its Day' series. 

In a statement, Axis Records said, "Mills feels after a long lay off it's time to rehash his Millsart persona and gauge the here and now, and where we fit in."

Set for release on 2x12" vinyl on 31st January, the release will be followed by a sixth installment in the spring.

Recently revealed to be the best-selling album on online vinyl marketplace Discogs this decade, the fourth studio album by the French electronic giants came in at number 62 in the UK's top 100 selling vinyl albums of the 2010s, as compiled by the Official Charts.

Been inexplicably biding your time, waiting for a turntable designed in the image of Saturn? Well, the wait is finally over.

Featuring a white spherical speaker in its centre, with an upper hemisphere that can be removed to place a record on its base, designer Elham Mirzapour's turntable stylishly portrays the 42.7 billion km² gas giant's rings and moons.

Also including a cartridge that resembles Saturn's orbiting moon, Titan, the record player is designed in a way that the movement of the stylus mirrors Titan's rotation around the planet.

A record has been made from recycled plastics.

The brainchild of Mercury Prize winner Nicky Mulvey, Cornwall-based Sharps Brewery, Keynvor and vinyl manufacturing company Tangible Formats, the 10-inch record is the first of its kind ever made.

Made with plastics found on the coastlines of Cornwall, the record is entitled 'In the Anthropocene', and profits from physical sales and digital streams will go to UK-based charity, Surfers Against Sewage.
