Tiësto and KSHMR have endorsed a new Kontakt instrument designed to create mainroom and EDM-style basslines and bass sounds. GETLOW is a new sample instrument from 7Skies and is built to create modulating and powerful basslines for club tracks. Sampled from analogue synths, it features multiple oscillators, FX, arpeggiator, a ‘Fat’ section for beefing up your sound and lots more. Watch the video below to hear it in action.
Native Instruments have revealed Expansions, a series of genre-based samples aimed at creating a track from scratch. With sample kits for Maschine and Battery, synth presets for Monark and Massive, pre-made MIDI patterns, FX settings and more.
NI have introduced a new series of effects including chorus, flanger and phaser. The Mod Pack includes Choral, Flair and Phasis, three plugins with over 150 presets inspired by classic hardware rack-mounts from the last 40 years to warm leads, widen bass and create atmosphere.
Native Instruments are today announcing a brand new website and subscription service called Sounds.com. The platform will host samples and loops for users to download for an initial subscription fee of $9.99, though there’s also a ‘free for life’ option too. Initially rolled out in the US, NI say the service will eventually be engrained in their Maschine and Traktor software, as well as integrating with Kontakt and the rest of their Komplete products via a dedicated plugin.
Maschine is finally getting real-time timestretching of loops in a new update coming December. In a video posted on their YouTube channel, Native Instruments teased the new update and although real-time timestretching is the main event, other features like loop hot-swapping, allowing you to switch out the loop you’re playing and drop in another all without missing a beat.
NI’s Traktor has been updated to version 2.11.1. It’s been a while since we’ve had an update for the popular DJing software, but Native have finally announced some new features, some of which we’ve seen before.
The major re-addition is the ability to colour-code tracks in the browser, which in turn show up on playlists and searches. Given the extra types of tracks Traktor now supports, it makes sense to differentiate between them in the sometimes-overwhelming browser.
Native Instruments is ensuring producers now have access to the sounds of their childhood via the recent Kinetic Toys roll out. The pack is an expanded version of a free Kontakt instrument dubbed Kinetic Treats.
The attached clip mentions samples from retro toy guns, tops, cuckoo clocks, toy trains, and clockwork robots. In all, Kinetic Toys includes 650 sounds sampled from over 200 throwback toys.
Native Instruments continue to bolster their REAKTOR Blocks platform with a new free update that introduces a new Blocks family - Kodiak.
